It's been interesting to watch the evolution of Monoprice in the home theater market following the introduction of its Monolith product line. I know this is a monoprice htp 1 thread but after reading to the end i noticed that the xmc 2 aeems to get bashed an awful lot. I went from an arcam av860 to the xmc 2 a few months ago and i too had heard all about the various bugs the xmc 2 had been having. One very nice feature the Storm Audio pre/pro has, that I wish the HTP-1 did, is the ability to run multiple active left, center, and right speakers. This is useful if you want to have dedicated stereo subwoofers just for the left and right channels, crossed over a bit higher than 80 Hz (say 120), so they are localizable. 14k that is a proper price for a pre Monolith HTP-1 | JBL SDA-7200*2 | Shield TV Pro Must say disappointing to hear of the issues on the Monoprice HTP -1, as The HTP-1 seems to want to raise the bar on DAC performance over its competitors and it succeeds a bit there.
